Faithfulness of Our Loving God In The Life of Annalisa Joni Lim
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

John 9:1-5 - A Man Born Blind Receives Sight
9:1 Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth. 2 And His disciples asked Him, saying, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?" 3 Jesus answered, "Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him. 4 I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work. 5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world." (NKJV)

To all who has allowed Annalisa Joni Lim, our youngest child, to touch your life, we want to thank you for your love & prayers. Annalisa Joni Lim has passed on to be with our Loving God on 23 Oct 2007.

We are grateful to God for the 3 years and 9 months that she was with us. She had been a very good girl & we enjoyed her companionship very much daily. She was a child overflowing with God's love. Despite not able to speak nor sit up, she lived each day full of joy. We miss her very much but we know that she is with our Loving God and all is well with her.

Let me share her life story with you through the following poem.

Abort her we were advised by the gynae

Full term for her they said was also unlikely

Prayers & thanks giving we offer to God unceasingly

We know that the fruit of my womb will not be untimely

To full term I carried her steadily

On 15 January 2004, she was delivered through caesarian quickly

Blood test was done almost immediately

Trisomy 18 she was diagnosed medically

Born slightly over 2kg, she was rather tiny

In intensive care unit she had to stay as she could breath barely

Not able to suck and swallow normally

Tube feed we supported her daily

Doctor advised us to watch her very closely

Her breathing we were to check regularly

We give God all the glory

The miracles of God upon her life we rejoice greatly

The love of many she had been showered generously

Many had prayed for her faithfully

With love and gratefulness to our God truly

She grew victoriously & beautifully

Regardless of how she felt daily

She greeted us smilingly

On 23 Oct 2007 she passed on peacefully

The Testimony of Annalisa Joni Lim

As early as the 3rd month of the pregnancy (Jul 2003),
-Doctor suspected chromosome disorder/abnormality through ultrasound scans.
-Consulted 2 doctors & were advised to abort the baby. We refused.
-The only way to know with nearly 100% certainty that an unborn baby has chromosome disorder is to do an amnio (amniocentesis or CVS (chorionic villi sampling)).
-As abortion was not a choice for us, we refused the amnio test

As Pregnancy progressed,
-Doctor warned against possibilities of miscarriage & stillbirth but we refuse to give up.
-I carried her full term and she was delivered on 15 Jan 2006 at the Singapore General Hospital.

Medical report upon blood test at birth showed,
-Annalisa had a chromosome disorder called Trisomy 18, where she had 3 chromosomes in the 18th position instead of the normal pair.
-Trisomy 18 (also known as Edwards syndrome) is the second most common chromosome disorder, after Trisomy 21 (also known as Down Syndrome).
-Unlike Down Syndrome, Trisomy 18 is usually fatal, with two-thirds of the babies not making it to term and 90 percent of those that do typically live no more than a few months.

We thank God for the faith in Jesus Christ & the many prayers that kept us focus on what God can do for Annalisa, for us and for many people through her life.

It is God who fulfills His purposes in her life & blesses through her!

We witness the working of God’s miracles every day! Memories of her & her loving smiles remind us of God’s goodness in our lives! We named her Annalisa Joni Lim for she is favoured by our gracious & merciful God!
